Course Description
Provides an introductory survey of American history from its colonial origins through the Civil War and Reconstruction. Emphasizes the impact of certain ideologies, events and individuals upon the American character, including Puritanism, the American Revolution, black slavery, and the personalities of Jefferson, Jackson and Lincoln.
